ASBK Round 4 “Hidden Valley – Darwin, NT”

This round sees the Unitech Race Team head to Hidden Valley in Darwin, NT for Round 4 of the Australian Superbike Championship.  For this round it is only the premier class of the championship in Superbikes as it is held in conjunction with the V8 Supercars, so it means that it is only Arthur Sissis #61 on board his Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike for this round.

Qualifying saw Arthur Sissis get a position of 7th which places him on the outside of Row 3 for the start of all 3 races.

Race 1 saw him struggle with some rear tyre grip and saw him finish Race 1 in P7.

Race 2 saw him get off the line well and position himself in P1 for the first 5 laps until he started to experience rear tyre grip issues once again and eventually drop back to finish the race in P7.

Race 3 with going into turn 1 off the start, Arthur was lucky not to be taken out by being clipped from behind by another rider.  After settling in and getting through the laps, he finished in P5.

After some solid points for the weekend, it now sees him sitting 8th for the championship.

The next round is at Morgan Park in Warwick, QLD in early August, so it gives the team some time to look at what went on for the past weekend and what is needed going forward for the next few rounds.  The track is situated some 150+ klms inland from the coast and our past experience there at this time of the year means it is freezing cold and although we have been to a Morgan Park before, we know it is going to be cold.
