This specialized tool from APEX is designed to twist together multiple wires or the ends of a single looped piece of wire.  The APEX pliers' twirling action securely twists the wires to prevent unravelling, making them ideal for motorcycle mechanics looking to lock wire the essential nuts/bolts (brake callipers, sump plug, oil filter, etc…) for racing.  These APEX pliers enable you to safely twist wire to keep fasteners from vibrating loose, allowing you to work more efficiently than ever before.

Usage Recommendations:

• Do not exceed a span of 6" (152 mm) for safety wire between tension points.
• The maximum length of safety wire for a single application is 24" (609 mm).
• The number of twists per inch (1 twist = 1/2 complete turn) depends on wire diameter:
• 0.020" to 0.025" diameter: 8-14 twists
• 0.032" to 0.041" diameter: 6-11 twists
• 0.051" to 0.060" diameter: 4-9 twists
• The wire looped around the outside of the fastener must always be routed under the wire protruding from the hole to prevent slack. This may require reversing the direction of the wrap and twist from run to run, or run to pigtail.
• The pigtail should be no longer than 3/4" and have a minimum of four twists.
• Ends should be cut and bent toward the fastener to prevent snags.
